Move-out Checklist
Notice of Intent to Vacate
You are legally responsible for paying the rent on your rental home through the end of the lease; refer to your specific lease terms to learn more.
If you are planning on moving out of your home at the end of your lease, please provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate the premises. This gives our team time to start preparing for the next tenant.
Property Condition
Before handing in the keys for your rental home, you'll need to bring the property back to rent-ready condition. This involves the following:
Rental Cleaning: Start by decluttering and removing all of your personal belongings from the rental. Dust and wipe all surfaces, including walls, windowsills, and baseboards; next, vacuum the carpets and mop hard floors.
You should also clean all kitchen appliances, countertops, and cabinets, ensuring no traces of food or stains remain. Additionally, scrub the bathroom thoroughly, including the toilet, shower, and sink.
Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you have outdoor space where you take care of landscaping, including mowing the lawn, be sure to handle this once more before you move out.
Repairs: If any damage occurred during your stay, please take the necessary steps to repair this damage; this includes patching nail and screw holes, repainting discolored walls, and replacing any broken glass.
Security Deposit
After you leave your rental home, our team will perform a final inspection to check for any damage left behind. If we identify any damage that needs to be addressed, we will schedule repair visits; your deposit will be used to cover the associated costs.
Your deposit may also be used to cover any unpaid fees on your account.
Please note, you cannot use your security deposit to pay your final rent bill.
